Accessibility information for the museums, galleries and art venues in Frechen

  • text information accessibility

    • Kirche Alt St. Ulrich

    • Stiftung KERAMION

The unusual architecture of the KERAMION was planned and built in 1970/71 by the Cologne architect Peter Neufert. The roof construction of the rotunda is the defining element. The KERAMION was placed under monument protection in 2002. In the same year, a new building for museum education was opened.

There is 1 designated disabled parking space in the museum car park. The KERAMION is accessible to wheelchair users via a ramp with a slight incline. Ground-level access is via the garden gate on the back of the building. The door widths in the museum are suitable for wheelchairs.

In the museum educational pavilion there is 1 disabled toilet.

The exhibition level UG (historical department + temporary exhibitions) is not accessible to wheelchair users.

Guided tours for the blind/visually impaired and people with other disabilities are available on request.

Tactile objects are available after registration. With the specially made clay model of the KERAMION, the participants can experience the idiosyncratic architecture of the museum.

Guided tours in simple language are also available on request.

      Assistance dogs are allowed.
