The former Müller cloth factory, the core of the LVR Industrial Museum in Euskirchen, is almost completely accessible to people with mobility problems or wheelchair users, despite the historic building fabric being listed. All floors of the cloth factory can be reached via a sufficiently large passenger elevator. Since the cloth factory can only be visited with a guided tour, there is always a contact person who is happy to help if required. Disabled parking spaces and a disabled toilet in the new museum building are available.
All doors/passages are at least 90 cm wide (exception: outbuildings - smallest passage width 70 cm). The tables in the café are wheelchair accessible at a height of 67 cm.
For the tour of the cloth factory and the special exhibition, folding stools can be borrowed free of charge, which when closed also serve as walking and standing aids.
During the guided tours in the cloth factory there are many tactile offers which, together with the noise of the machines and the smell of oil and wool, make the visit a sensual experience. The tours last about 75 minutes. A fee of €45 must be paid for the tour (up to 25 people) and the reduced group admission for severely disabled people of €3.50 per person. On request it is possible to book a separate tour for a group of people with visual impairments and blind people. If possible, the program should be agreed at least two weeks in advance.
The museum offers special exhibitions on fixed dates on Sundays for deaf and hearing-impaired people. The tours last about 75 minutes. Please check our events calendar for current dates. The tours are translated into German sign language by a sign language interpreter. The sign language interpreter is paid for by the Regional Council of the Rhineland, the reduced entrance fee for the severely disabled is €4.
Deaf people can also book individual tours with sign language translation on a desired date during opening hours. The tours last about 75 minutes. The LVR bears the costs for the sign language interpreter, you pay the reduced group admission for severely disabled people of €3.50 per person, plus €45 guide fee (up to 25 people). Please register at least four weeks before the dates using the registration form on the museum website.
For visitors with cognitive disabilities, tours and programs are conducted in simple, understandable language and specifically tailored to the needs of the groups. In the Müller cloth factory, visitors can try out many things for themselves and experience machines in action. Some programs are more action-oriented and particularly suitable for people with learning disabilities. If possible, the programs should be arranged by telephone at least two weeks before the planned date. Telephone: 02251-1488 0)
