The Academy of Media Arts is a partner of this year's Poetica 9. The following public event will take place in cooperation with the KHM:
“Earth will erupt in a Conspiracy of Poetry and Nature”
Readings and conversations with Ali Abdollahi, Takako Arai and Kendel Hippolyte
Friday, January 26, 2024, 7 p.m. in the Filmforum in the Museum Ludwig

The event will take place in German and English. Entrance fee 12/8/6 EUR. You can get tickets through advance booking at the Literaturhaus Köln and at the box office.

The Rautenstrauch-Joest-Museum and the Schnütgen Museum are housed in a building ensemble that consists of a new building and historical parts of the building. Below the museum complex there is an underground car park with parking spaces for the disabled and a barrier-free elevator to the shared foyer of the two museums.

The museums can be reached at ground level via a flat ramp. The front door opens automatically.

All door widths in the Rautenstrauch-Joest-Museum are suitable for wheelchairs. Disabled toilets (m/f) are located in the basement and can be reached barrier-free via the elevator from the foyer.

The cash register is marked with guide strips for the blind, as is the elevator in the foyer, which can be reached at ground level. The barrier-free elevators (2) take you to all exhibition levels, the elevators are suitable for wheelchairs. Cloakroom and lockers are located in the basement and are freely accessible.

Seating is available in the exhibition area and in the foyer. Folding chairs as walking aids and 2 rental wheelchairs (with advance notice) are available.

Touchscreens, audio guides with some descriptive texts and video guides in sign language are available. mp3 files can be downloaded from the homepage.

The Museum of Applied Arts Cologne (MAKK) is located not far from the main train station, cathedral and Museum Ludwig.

3 designated public disabled parking spaces are located directly in front of the museum (street "An der Rechtschule"), further parking spaces are available around the museum square.

The museum forecourt is easily accessible for wheelchair users coming from the cathedral and Wallrafplatz via the lowered curb, the museum entrance is at ground level.

The cash desk/information desk is in the foyer. From here you can get to the design lounge, the exhibition areas and the gastronomy. The cloakroom lockers are on the ground floor in the entrance area behind the design lounge.

The Museum of East Asian Art is housed in a low-rise building on the Aachener Weiher, which was built according to plans by the Japanese architect and Le Corbusier student Kunio Maekawa and expanded in 1955. Sufficient parking space is available directly at the museum, there are 2 parking spaces for the disabled.

The museum is barrier-free accessible at ground level, a door opener is available. In the entrance area, a staircase leads to the foyer, which is one meter lower. Next to the staircase there is a barrier-free wheelchair lift, which is operated by the staff.

All exhibition rooms, the museum cafe, the museum shop as well as the disabled toilets and the cloakroom can be reached from the foyer at ground level and are barrier-free.

Seating is available in the exhibition area and in the foyer. 1 rental wheelchair and folding stool (20) are available. An inductive audio system is available.

Guided tours on the topics of "silk" and "tea" are offered for the blind/visually impaired.

Individual guided tours can be requested from the Cologne Museum Service.

Assistance dogs are allowed.
